What are Summer Snippets? More than just a clever alliteration that makes me smile, Summer Snippets are whimsical little posts, filled with lots of photos of summer life with the White and Fletcher families. We want you to get to know us and our families a little better and see that day to day life is full of small things that all add up to big things.

From Michele:

My time this week that hasn't revolved around children has revolved around fruit. On Sunday, we were given about 60 pounds of strawberries, for free, all of which needed to be eaten or processed within the next 48 hours. I gave away most of them and I'm glad I did! Monday we got a call to say there were another 60 pounds to pickup. I don't know about you, but when someone offers us free fruit, we take it! Sometimes it means we put other plans on hold in order to get it into the freezer or can it, but that is totally worth it.

I had two little helpers with the strawberries. The first was this handy strawberry huller from Pampered Chef. LOVE IT. Never want to deal with strawberries without it.

My second little helper was a two year old that decided his snack needed to be a lot closer to the strawberries. A lot closer. This was his second snack. The first included single bites taken out of about 20 strawberries. Don't worry. We ate those ;)

Later in the week we took a field trip out to a local farming community, where we saw and picked some of the beautiful fruit sold around the world.

This picture shows my three year old sitting next to my eight year old. This is significant because this was probably the only time he was still for four hours!

I took this picture at the blueberry farm store because it was a church attendance sign just like we had in the church where I grew up! If I ever see one somewhere I'd really like to get it. I'm not usually nostalgic, but I really like this.

These are scrumptious yellow nectarines that we found at a local farm stand near the blueberry farm. 25 pounds for only $9!! I love living in California!!
