Spring Circle Time!
It's spring! Officially spring! We've had an unusually warm winter here in central California, which is lovely for a heat lover like me but just terrible for the farmers. There are small blue signs in the orchards alongside the roads that say simply "Pray for rain". And we've been praying.
I've also revamped our Circle Time to be more spring-friendly. Light, upbeat, and focused on Easter. You know, every year or so we have a different make-up in our Circle Time: different combo of kids, different focus, different needs. This spring I have a 12-year-old daughter, a 10-year-old daughter, and a 7-year-old son in on Circle Time, and sometimes Mighty Joe pops his head in and just interrupts the whole thing,
Go with the flow!
We start with Exploring Grace Together, Jessica Thompson's new family devotional that is speaking straight to the heart of my kids in this age range. I gave them each a white board, which we purchased from Miler Pads and Papers (Super cheap! Totally worth it!)
Each chapter opens with a verse, so I dictate the verse and they write it on their white boards. We read, we answer the brief questions, we pray.
Usually we move on then to our Mystery of History lesson for the day, but I just gathered up all of our supplies for A Sense of the Resurrection because we're going to start next week! Woohoo! Anyone else excited to start this with their kids?
