My Life Feels Like An Episode of Seinfeld
My daily life is comprised of many vignettes all strung together.
Those little pieces normally deal with, in no particular order:
- Discipling and training children
- Bodily excretions not my own
- Teaching children to count or identify letters and shapes
- Reading picture books or other read aloud books
- Cleaning up spilled milk (and trying hard not to cry over it)
- Exclaiming over another (!) drawing
- Building with Duplo on the floor
- Food. Making lots and lots of food.
You get the idea. I feel like if I start to write about all those kind of things, I’ll just sound like a Seinfeld episode, filling up 30 minutes with chatter about the mundane.
I don't want to post something just for the sake of posting something. I have lots of things to say, none of which will ever get pinned on Pinterest!
I don't know if you can really understand how often I think of you, our readers. You are such special people, coming back month after month, literally year after year. I pray for you all frequently. Some of you share your prayer requests with us privately and I don't forget them. It is such a privilege to write in this space.
Sometimes we'll have some amazing posts for you, like Kendra's series on Mystery of History Reading Lists or the Crockpot Pork Carnitas recipe I posted back in January that still gets hits every week. And makes me want to run out and buy a pork roast so I can make it tomorrow!
And other times we'll have posts like the one where I posted a real-life picture of my kitchen, reminding everyone that it's really okay to make a mess sometimes.
Whatever we write about, we pray that you know that you are loved and treasured by the One who created you. That God Almighty wants to have a friendship with you that will last for eternity.
Has anyone ever told you that? If they haven't, please let me know. I will be more than happy to talk with you about how you can know our Jesus.
